Neighbourhood Features
Ngau Chi Wan is located between Wong Tai Sin and Kwun Tong districts. Originally a bay, it refers to the area between Hammer Hill Road, Clear Water Bay Road, and Choi Hung Estate. It has often been mistakenly called Choi Hung due to the MTR Station within the area.
Since the 1970s, public housing estates have been developed gradually, along with the expansion of nearby streets to meet the increasing population demand. Additionally, the government plans to initiate the redevelopment of squatter villages, transforming Ngau Chi Wan Village into a public housing estate, further increasing the population in the area.
The community boasts comprehensive facilities, including Ngau Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre and Municipal Services Building, providing ample recreational spaces. Many traditional buildings, such as Ngau Chi Wan Village Plaque and Ngau Chi Wan Village Tai Wong Temple, have been preserved. In terms of transportation, apart from Choi Hung Station, there are several bus and minibus terminals in the area, such as Choi Hung Bus Terminus and Choi Wan Bus Terminus, offering various bus and minibus routes to different districts in Hong Kong.
