Neighbourhood Features
Kam Tin is located to the east of the Yuen Long district, situated in a basin surrounded by several hills. It is one of the area’s six major villages and home to many indigenous villages in the New Territories. After the approval of the Kam Tin Outline Zoning Plan, the government planned comprehensive and residential development in Kam Tin, constructing both public and private housing while preserving some natural ecological landscapes.
To align with urban planning and development, the government is constructing residential buildings and large shopping malls above the Kam Sheung Road MTR Station, enhancing the overall living facilities in the area. In addition to local consumption, residents can visit Yuen Long MTR Station, just one stop away, where several large shopping malls and traditional small shops in the Yuen Long district are available.
In terms of transportation, Kam Sheung Road Station will become an interchange station for the Tuen Ma Line and the Northern Link in the future, making Kam Tin more accessible through the railway network. Nearby, there is also the Tai Lam Tunnel, connecting to various bus routes at the interchange station to reach different areas.
Residential Distribution
Residential developments are mainly concentrated along both sides of the Kam Tin River and the area around San Tin Highway. Residential areas along the Kam Tin River, closer to the MTR station, consist mainly of traditional villages, including Ko Po Tsuen, Kat Hing Wai, andShui Tau. Some private estates in this area include Grand Mayfair, Crescent Green, Greenview Garden, Carmine Court, HARMONIC VILLA,Hermitage Garden, and Riva.
Private housing along San Tin Highway includes a large development called Park Yoho, part of the Yoho series, offering beautiful river views, low building density, a serene environment, and high privacy levels.
