Welcome to Kwan Tei

Neighbourhood Features

Kwan Tei is located in the northern part of the New Territories, and it is a concentration of several original indigenous villages. In the past, the villagers relied on agriculture and animal husbandry for their livelihoods. Currently, many of the working population have moved to the urban areas for employment, retaining a small amount of farmland to cultivate agricultural products, which are then transported to the urban areas for sale. The area preserves the abandoned Hung Leng Station of the Sha Tau Kok Railway, which has been designated as a Grade III historical building.

Kwan Tei is a low-density development area with an expansive view, situated near the Ng Tung River. Residents primarily use the Sha Tau Kok Road for transportation, with a bus station serving Kwan Tei that offers bus and minibus routes to Central, Sheung Shui, Cheung Sha Wan, and other destinations. For daily necessities, residents can also visit the nearby Luen Wo Hui, where numerous restaurants and shops are available.

Residential Distribution

Residential areas in the district mainly revolve around the Queen's Hill Camp and consist primarily of villages, including Kan Lung Tsuen, Kwan Tei Village, Ma Liu Shui San Tsuen, Ma Wat Tsuen, Siu Hang Tsuen Fanling, and others. There are also a few private housing estates such as Kingston Garden, St. James Court, and Sunny Terrace, as well as the public housing estate Shan Lai Court.
