Neighbourhood Features
Tai Kok Tsui is located west of Mong Kok, separated by Tong Mi Road, serving as a hub connecting the east and west of the New Territories with Hong Kong Island. The district features the MTR Olympic Station, linking to large shopping malls, providing a convenient lifestyle.
Since the West Kowloon reclamation in the 1990s, the Tai Kok Tsui area has expanded, and a series of old district reconstructions have transformed its appearance. It has evolved from an industrial old district into a community with a blend of old and new features. Additionally, the district has seen the addition of civic buildings, swimming pools, sports centers, and nearby playgrounds, contributing to a well-rounded recreational environment.
Residential Distribution
Residential properties in the area are around Olympic Station and the vicinity of large parks, while older tenement buildings or standalone structures are closer to Mong Kok. Over Olympic Station and nearby private estates, there are developments like The Long Beach, Imperial Cullinan, Hampton Place, Harbour Green, One Silversea, Lime Stardom, and Park Summit. Although some properties are a bit farther from the MTR Olympic Station, residents can still walk to Mong Kok or Yau Ma Tei, offering more shopping or transportation options.
Adjacent to the Tung Chau Street Park are estates like Shining Heights, Metro Harbour View, located between Nam Cheong Station and Olympic Station, enjoying the convenience of two railway stations. Closer to Mong Kok Station, the properties are older and mainly comprise old-style standalone tenement buildings, with nearby street shops including car repair shops, hardware stores, and some industrial buildings.
As a hotspot for old district reconstruction, Tai Kok Tsui has several redeveloped residential projects, with the largest being the Square Mile, comprising 7 phases, including Square Mile Phase 1 Eltanin・Square Mile, Square Mile Phase 2 Cetus・Square Mile and Square Mile Phase 3 Aquila・Square Mile. Other redeveloped residential projects in the area include AVA 55, Upper West and more.
