Neighbourhood Features
Tsz Wan Shan, the northernmost part of Kowloon, is situated north of Wong Tai Sin and Diamond Hill and to the east of Chuk Yuen. Initially known for its concentration of cowsheds and dyeing factories, Tsz Wan Shan later underwent development as part of the "Tsz Wan Shan Urban Renewal Project," leading to the construction of several public housing estates, including Tsz Wan Shan Estate.
Once one of the largest public housing estates in Hong Kong, Tsz Wan Shan Estate has seen some renovation projects in recent times, bringing in new community facilities and gradually changing the image of the older housing estates in the area.
The community offers various cultural and recreational facilities, such as Tsz Wan Shan Estate Central Playground, Tsz Wan Shan Community Hall, and Tsz Wan Shan Public Library. Additionally, Po Kong Village Road Park features the longest elevated cycling path in Hong Kong, catering to residents' sports and leisure needs.
As one of the largest shopping centers in Tsz Wan Shan, Tsz Wan Shan Shopping Centre serves as a community hub, housing a variety of stores and providing abundant shopping options, with pathways connecting to various housing estates. In terms of transportation, the area has several bus terminuses, with numerous bus and minibus routes connecting to different areas in Hong Kong.
Residential Distribution
Residential developments are concentrated along Fung Tak Road, Po Kong Village Road, and Tsz Wan Shan Road. Fung Tak Road area consists mainly of small, older private estates, in proximity to the MTR stations of Wong Tai Sin and Diamond Hill. Examples include Dragon Glory Mansion, Fu Yau Building, Ming Fung Court, The Vista, and Aspen Crest.
Po Kong Village Road and Tsz Wan Shan Road area primarily features public housing estates such as Tsz Lok Estate, Tsz Man Estate, Tsz Hong Estate, and Tsz Ching Estate. There are also several private housing developments like Tsz Oi Court and Tsz On Court. The single-tower private residential building, The Forest Hills, with over 50 floors, is located between Po Kong Village Road and Shung Wah Street, relatively close to the MTR station, providing convenient transportation options.
