Welcome to Cha Kwo Ling

Neighbourhood Features

Cha Kwo Ling is a hill in the eastern part of Kowloon, in the Kwun Tong district. It earned its name due to the abundance of tea and fruit trees on the hill, which used to be a manually excavated stone quarry. The area underwent extensive reclamation projects and gradually became industrialized. In 1998, the government decided to implement residential development in Cha Kwo Ling, including both public and private housing.

Cha Kwo Ling’s Tin Hau Temple is a well-known landmark in the area, preserving traditional cultural customs. The community does not have large shopping malls, and residents mainly rely on the nearby Laguna Plaza for their daily needs. Residents can also take short-distance transportation to reach the Kwun Tong city center, where various shopping malls, shops, and restaurants cater to a diverse range of entertainment and consumption needs.

In terms of transportation, Cha Kwo Ling is served by bus and minibus routes connecting to Kwun Tong, Lam Tin, and Yau Tong, or residents can choose to walk to Lam Tin Station for MTR access, a journey taking approximately 10 minutes.

Residential Distribution

Residential properties in the area are mainly concentrated in the city center. The largest private housing estate is Laguna City, developed in four phases. Another notable development is Koko Hills, a luxurious residential complex transformed from an old stone quarry. Other residences in the area include standalone buildings such as Wai Shun Building, Hoi Chu Mansion, Luen Hing Building, Cha Kwo Ling Building and Cheung Lee Building.
