Away from the hustle and bustle, the Sea Ranch is a housing estate developed by Hutchison Whampoa back in 1979. It is situated at Chi Ma Wan Peninsula, a bay on southeastern Lantau Island. It is only accessible by private ferries welcoming residents and invited guests only, departing from Cheung Chau.
Properties in the Sea Ranch are some luxuriously-looking and ridiculously secluded villas . Uninvited visitors are forbidden to even alight from the ferries. With minimum urban pollution, residents here are enveloped by the rawest natural beauty of Hong Kong — so much so that gazing at stars can be a mundane way to kill time. It is indeed a rare enclave frozen in time on the South Lantau coast.
