Tai Po is located in the northeastern part of the New Territories and became a new town in 1979. It has undergone a series of reclamation projects and currently accommodates over 300,000 residents. The urban area of the district has rapidly developed, with the construction of multiple public housing estates. Simultaneously, there has been an increase in community services, recreational facilities, educational institutions, and shopping malls. In comparison to other urban areas, Tai Po has ample green spaces, proximity to various natural hiking spots, including Wu Kau Tang, Tai Po Kau, and Tai Mei Tuk. Many housing developments in the area adopt low-density designs, offering residents lush green surroundings.
