Sham Shui Po is located in the northwestern part of Kowloon, historically known for its deep-water pier and later developed into a bustling commercial area. It became renowned for retailing various electronic products, trendy accessories, clothing, and miscellaneous goods. Sham Shui Po used to be characterized by non-compliant housing, including subdivided units, cage homes, and rooftop dwellings.
With the initiation of urban renewal projects, the area has gradually transformed into a popular location in Kowloon. The demographic shift toward a younger population has also led to the emergence of numerous coffee shops and unique boutiques around the Tai Nan Street and Wong Chuk Street area, significantly improving the district's appearance and environment.
One of the most famous streets in Sham Shui Po is Apliu Street, known for selling affordable electronic goods. There are also several green spaces within the district, including Sham Shui Po Park, Nam Cheong Park, and Tung Chau Street Park, providing ample recreational space.

Residential properties in Sham Shui Po are densely distributed, primarily categorized into coastal locations and the vicinity of the Sham Shui Po MTR Station. Notable estates along the coast include Cullinan West, a development above Nam Cheong Station with a 300,000-square-foot shopping mall at its base, offering comprehensive lifestyle amenities.
Near Sham Shui Po Station, there are predominantly older tenement buildings such as Capital Building and Cheong Yuen Building. Some renovated private buildings, like AVA 228, Park One, Seaside Sonata, Harbour Park, Trinity Towers, West Park, and The Campton, can also be found.
